What People Are Saying...

He Talked About It All the Time and Learned a Lot!

“I do think the group dynamic was good. Sean did really well when he could watch other kids, so he knew what to do and what was expected. For Liam, I was worried about it being a long day for him, but he loved coming! He talked about it all the time and learned a lot, so it was definitely worth it.”

Katie M. (Mom)

It helped my son learn to make better choices!

“It helped my son learn to make better choices. He would learn about making good choices or being a friend in his class, then come home and tell me that he saw his friends making poor choices and he didn’t like it, so he was going to make better choices next time. He gets away with not completing activities at school, but in those classes, he learned to reset so he can get back and finish the activity.”

Gaby L. (Mom)

Why Teach Me to Learn Is Different From Every Other Summer Program (and worth the cost)

Most camps pick one or two things to focus on per day or for their entire camp. We have learned how to pack skill after skill into every day, and all the kids know is that they are having fun.

Time matters in child development. The more consistently a child practices a skill, the faster and more deeply it sticks. That's not an opinion. It's how the brain works. When your child is playing a game, they are simultaneously working on social skills, fine motor skills, attention, cognitive skills, taking turns, and more.  Most of the time, with most children, you do not have to break down each skill and work on them separately; that’s not how it works in real life. For the child who needs extra help on a skill, we can target it right then, within the activity without missing a beat.

One hour a week builds awareness.  Daily practice builds transformation.

Many summer programs meet once or twice a week for an hour or two. That's a start. But at Teach Me To Learn, your child is with us 4 days a week, 4 hours a day. That's 16 hours of expert-led programming every single week. The repetition, the routine, the daily reinforcement, that's what creates real, lasting change that carries over into school, into friendships, and into daily life at home.

In a typical session at the Teach Me To Learn Summer Academy, your child isn't working on just one skill. Every day we intentionally weave together:

Gross motor development: Building strength, coordination, and body awareness

Fine motor skills: the hand and finger control that drives handwriting, self-care, and that enable better focus during activities.

Social skills and behavior: real practice making friends, reading social cues, and navigating group dynamics

Cognitive challenges: attention, problem-solving, memory, planning, and other executive functioning skills

School readiness: we work on math, writing, and reading, so your child's skills stay sharp and to iron out any wrinkles so your child returns to school confident and capable.

Water safety: confidence, getting their hair and face wet, water safety in and around pools, and other skills in our swimming pool.

Table manners and feeding: independence, utensil use, using a napkin, manners, and social confidence at mealtimes

And more: these skills and more are woven together through play, movement, and structured activities

This isn't a checklist. It's a carefully designed daily experience where every activity serves multiple purposes at once because that's how children actually learn and grow and how we get the best possible results.

Led by therapists with over a decade of refinement

August and Kaylyn didn't build this program once and leave it alone. For over 10 years we have worked with children and families, studied what works, thrown out what didn't, and rebuilt it better every single year. The Teach Me To Learn Summer Academy is the result of that decade of constant refinement shaped by real outcomes with real kids.

We are both certified in:

  • Ayres Sensory Integration
  • SOS Feeding Therapy
  • Integrated Listening System
  • Vision Screening
  • Handwriting Without Tears & Zaner-Bloser Handwriting
  • John Rosemond Parent Leadership

This is the same level of expertise families pay hundreds of dollars per hour for in individual therapy sessions, delivered in a rich, fun, social group setting that makes the learning stick, and all for a fraction of the cost.

Small by design. Powerful by intention.

We cap every summer at 15 campers.

Not because we have to, but because smaller groups mean every child is seen, supported, and challenged at the right level. Over five years of running the Teach Me To Learn Summer Academy, we've served dozens of campers here and hundreds of children through our clinic.

We know what works. And we built this camp around it.

FAQ

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions:

What age does my kiddo need to be to participate?

We are accepting kids ages 4-12. We cap enrollment at age 12 for new families to make sure every camper is set up for success. However, if your child has worked with us before and is over 12, they may still qualify. Reach out and we'll have a conversation about whether Teach Me To Learn is still the right fit for them.

Does my child need to be potty trained?

Yes, your child does need to be potty trained to attend summer camp.

Can my kiddo come for only 1 week?

Yes. We will be running summer camps all summer long. Your kiddo is welcome to attend just 1 week or every week!

Can I get a refund if we miss a day?

Our camps are nonrefundable. However, you can receive the handouts for that day so you and your camper won't fall behind.

Is this reimbursable by my insurance?

Although our summer camp is led by licensed occupational therapists, it is not considered medically necessary therapy and is therefore not eligible for insurance reimbursement.

Our summer program is designed as a skill-building, group-based experience focused on school readiness, social skills, independence, and confidence in a structured environment.

Because it is not provided as individual medical treatment or tied to a specific therapy plan of care, it is considered an educational and developmental program.

Are there any fees if I am late to pick up my kiddo?

We are staffing camp with licensed therapists.  If you are late we will have to pull staff from other duties or use our therapists so there will be a $25 fee for every 15 minutes you are late.

Do you offer discounts if I sign up more than 1 of my kiddos?

Yes! DM us to take advantage of our other discounts.  We have several depending on your specific circumstances so messaging us allows us to give you the best discount we have to suit your needs.

What if I what to sign up more than one kiddo for multiple weeks?

No problem!  DM us to take advantage of our other discounts.  We have several depending on your specific circumstances so messaging us allows us to give you the best discount we have to suit your needs.

What if my child is afraid of water or won't put their face in it?

This is one of the most common things we see and one of the most rewarding to work through. Many children have sensory sensitivities around getting water on their face or head. Because our program is led by occupational therapists who specialize in sensory processing, we understand exactly why this happens and how to address it safely and gently. Most kids who arrive nervous around water leave confident and excited to get back in the pool.
